Original German WWI Model 1894 Hebel Signal Flare Pistol

Description

Here is a very good condition WWI Imperial German Model 1894 Hebel flare pistol, in the standard 26.5mm caliber with a 9 inch barrel. There are  several small proof marks on the right side of the frame, including the German Imperial Eagle, and Crown over B for Beschuss = proof load fired.

Metal finish is worn with a nice worn gray patina, with signs of past pitting and scale. The bore is slightly rust inside and could use a good cleaning. The wood grips still fit well, but do show wear and handling marks commensurate with age and long service. The lanyard ring is still present (rare). Mechanically tight and fully functional, though the catch sticks a bit.
