Post WW2 German FF33 Field Telephone Wire Cart (Holds Spools + Backpack Carrier)

No spools or backpack carrier included, these are sold separately. Post war manufactured, condition is alright. It has a few small items missing items such as 1 side is missing the fold up locking nub (it broke off and is missing) as pointed out by my finger, 1 side wheel air valve cap(easy to find a modern replacement), missing the air pump, 1 wheel cap as pointed out by my finger(doesn’t necessarily affect functionality just there to protect the ball bearings inside from the elements), and 1 side is missing the tightening screw to lock in the wheel as pointed out by my finger(this piece is threaded so you couldn’t technically makeshift a part to clamp down locking the tire in place). One spool holder brackets is a bit tough to get to close and lock on the spool axels however at the time i tested this i believe my spool was bent so that may be the problem. The tires are flat but no holes or dry rot seem present. This appears to have been stored outside at a time due to the presence of rust and missing paint throughout parts of the cart, discolored web straps with what appears to be moss growing on the web straps(the web straps are very dry and rigid i recommend replacing them with leather straps like an original cart would have). Sold as is you receive 2x tires, the main body, and the pull bar.

Whats the difference between a post war cart and a wartime cart? First off, the price. If you can even find an original cart it will run you over 2,000$. I have personally only seen 1 wartime cart for sale in my years collecting. Post war carts are rare now and only pop up a few times in Europe. In america theres rarely ever one for sale. The main differences of the two carts are: The tires were solid rubber on originals, the straps were leather on originals whereas they are web on post war carts. The backpack carrier holder did not sit on an angle on original carts but because of this they needed a special accessory to make it tilt on an angle(this was needed for the ease of rewinding telephone wire). And lastly the draw bar didn’t sit on an angle either and had wood handles instead of metal. With all of this said it’s not hard to modify a cart to be like an original one or theres no problem leaving it as is. I have one in my personal collection that is left as is post war style and it looks amazing when you put two spools and a backpack carrier on it. Especially if you are planning to use this outside, i would not recommend using a 2000$+ original cart. This one is perfect for reenactments or just display.
