Description
This is a 1936 dated wood case and contents for a Sauerstoffbehandlungsgerät für truppen or a Medical Field Hospital Oxygenator. An oxygenator is a medical device that is capable of exchanging oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood of human patient during surgical procedures. The early pre-WWII date (1936) makes it a highly desirable Wehrmacht or Reichswehr transitional piece, which is much rarer than late-war (1943–1945) equipment.
The case is in great condition except some laminate that is peeling at the bottom front face. It measures 24″ x 11″. Features steel fold out carry handle and closure locking clasp. It is dated 1936 on the interior and still bears the manufactures logo and name Dräger (Draeger). Complete with all the original contents and even the paper manual. Likely will be shipped with the oxygen tank unscrewed to prevent any problems with the shipping service thinking it’s a filled cylinder(hazard) The tank is obviously empty. Completely safe to ship and own.
